Edit Finance Template Blocks

Customize invoice and estimate template blocks, theme settings, order, visibility, and preview.

The finance template editor controls how invoice and estimate templates render. Use it to customize template blocks, block order, block settings, theme style, and the live preview before using a template with customers.

Open Settings > Finance Templates, then create or edit a template.

Understand The Editor

The editor has three working areas:

  • The left panel lists blocks.
  • The center preview shows how the template will render.
  • The right panel shows settings for the selected block and theme.

Template name appears in the header. Save is available when the template is editable and has unsaved changes.

Manage Blocks

Blocks are the sections that make up a finance document. Common blocks include header, divider, recipient information, line items, totals, footer, and signature for estimates.

You can:

  • add blocks
  • remove blocks
  • enable or disable blocks
  • reorder blocks with drag and drop
  • select a block to edit its settings

Keep the structure simple. Customers should understand the document without searching for totals, payment terms, or signature areas.

Edit Block Settings

Block settings control what each block displays. For example, line items can show discount, tax, and unit columns. Totals can show tax breakdown, discount, and amount paid. Footer blocks can show notes, terms, or tax registration.

After changing block settings, review the preview. A setting can look correct in the panel but still create a crowded customer-facing document.

Edit Theme Settings

Theme settings control presentation such as accent color, density, font family, and header style. Use theme changes to match your brand, but keep finance documents easy to scan and print.

Before saving a template as default, preview a realistic invoice or estimate with multiple line items, tax, discount, notes, and terms.

System Templates

System templates can be read-only. If a system template cannot be edited, clone or create a custom template, then customize the copy.

Do not treat a system template as your final branded template until you have reviewed customer-facing output.
