Appearance Settings
Choose theme, sidebar style, and workspace layout density preferences.
Appearance settings control personal visual preferences for the workspace. Use them to make the app easier to scan and more comfortable for daily work.
These preferences affect the signed-in user only. They do not change branding, public pages, invoice templates, or what teammates see in their own accounts.
Use appearance settings for personal comfort. Use branding settings for customer-facing colors, logos, and public presentation.
Use appearance settings to improve your own workspace comfort. Use workspace branding settings when you need to change customer-facing colors or logos.
Change Theme
- Open Settings.
- Go to Appearance.
- Choose the theme option shown in the theme control.
- Confirm the current theme label.
Theme changes affect the signed-in user's workspace display.
Use theme changes to improve readability for your own environment. If you are checking screenshots, shared training material, or support steps, remember that another teammate may use a different theme.
Layout Preferences
The appearance page includes layout preferences for:
- Sidebar style: full or compact.
- Density: comfortable or compact.
Use a full sidebar when you want text labels visible. Use a compact layout when you need more room for tables, boards, editors, and reports.
Compact density is useful for CRM lists, finance tables, reports, and project boards. Comfortable density is better when you review detail pages, forms, settings, and content-heavy records for long periods.
Choose a Layout
Use compact sidebar and density when you spend most of your day in tables and boards. Use full sidebar or comfortable density when you are learning the app, training teammates, or reviewing content-heavy records.
Match Layout To Work
Common choices:
- Full sidebar for onboarding, training, and support calls.
- Compact sidebar for experienced users who know module icons.
- Compact density for CRM, finance, reports, and project boards.
- Comfortable density for forms, document editing, settings, and review work.
If a table feels cramped, check browser zoom, sidebar style, and density before assuming the table itself is broken.
Save Preferences
After changing layout preferences, select Save preferences. If a preference does not appear immediately in another open tab, refresh that tab.
If the app looks different from a teammate's screen, compare appearance settings before assuming a feature is missing. Navigation labels can be less visible when the sidebar is compact.
When training or documenting a process, mention if screenshots were taken with a compact sidebar or compact density.
Screenshot And Training Consistency
Appearance settings are personal preferences. If your team creates help screenshots, onboarding videos, or internal training material, choose one standard view before capturing examples. A full sidebar and comfortable density are usually easier for new users to follow than a compact workspace.
When a teammate says their screen looks different from a guide, check appearance preferences before troubleshooting permissions. A collapsed sidebar, compact density, or theme difference can make the same feature look like it moved.
Accessibility Review
Choose the theme and density that keep text readable during long work sessions. If users rely on zoom, larger system text, or high-contrast browser settings, test dense tables, sidebars, dropdowns, and modal forms after changing appearance preferences.
Troubleshooting
If a screenshot or help article looks different from your workspace, compare theme, density, sidebar style, role permissions, and enabled modules.
If a setting does not apply immediately, save preferences and refresh the tab.
If layout still looks wrong, check browser zoom and screen width before changing workspace settings.
Screenshots And Support
When sending a screenshot to support or writing internal instructions, include whether you use compact sidebar or compact density if the layout matters. This helps another person match what you see.
