Configure Event Type Timing
Control buffers, booking windows, lead time, and confirmation rules.
Timing settings decide when a meeting can appear as available and how much space Agiled keeps around bookings.
Configure timing after you have created the event type, connected the right calendar, and confirmed the host's normal availability. Availability says when the host is generally willing to meet. Timing rules narrow that down into the exact slots visitors can choose.
Before You Change Timing
Open the event type and confirm these items first:
- The event duration is correct.
- The assigned host or team is correct.
- The availability schedule matches working hours.
- The connected calendar is the calendar that should block busy time.
- The booking page is not currently being shared for a time-sensitive campaign.
If the event is already public, timing changes affect new booking attempts immediately. Existing appointments keep their saved start time unless you edit or reschedule them.
Timing Fields
Buffer Before
Adds time before each booking so you are not scheduled immediately after another
commitment.
Buffer After
Adds time after each booking for notes, follow-up, travel, or preparation.
Lead Time
Prevents last-minute bookings. Use this when you need notice before a meeting.
Maximum Days in Advance
Controls how far into the future visitors can book.
Minimum Booking Notice
Use this when a meeting requires a minimum notice period before it can be booked.
Maximum Bookings Per Day
Limits how many times this event type can be booked on the same day.
Start Time Increment
Controls the spacing between available start times. For example, 30 minutes
shows starts at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, and so on.
Timezone
Set the timezone used for this event type. Visitors can still see booking times
in their own timezone during the public booking flow.
Requires Confirmation
Turn this on when bookings should be reviewed before they are confirmed.
Show Remaining Slots
Turn this on when visitors should see how many slots remain.
Recommended Settings
For discovery calls, use a short lead time, a modest buffer after the meeting, and a booking window of a few weeks. This keeps the page easy to book while protecting the host from same-hour meetings.
For paid consultations, use longer lead time, larger buffers, and confirmation when payment, preparation, or qualification is required.
For internal or recurring operational meetings, use smaller buffers and shorter booking windows so team calendars do not fill too far in advance.
Test the Public Page
After saving timing changes:
- Open the public booking page in a private browser window.
- Choose a day that should have availability.
- Confirm the visible slots match the host calendar.
- Check a day that should be blocked.
- Book a test appointment if the page is new or the rules changed heavily.
If no times appear, loosen one rule at a time. The most common causes are a large lead time, a short booking window, calendar busy blocks, or availability that does not include the selected day.
Troubleshooting
If visitors see too many slots, increase the start-time increment, add buffers, or reduce the maximum bookings per day.
If visitors cannot book soon enough, reduce lead time and confirm the event is not set to require manual confirmation when instant booking is expected.
If slots show in the wrong timezone, confirm the event timezone and ask the visitor to check the timezone selector on the public page.
