Edit And Review Event Types

Update event type details, scheduling rules, booking questions, reminders, follow-ups, paid booking, and CRM automation.

The event type editor controls one bookable meeting type. Use it to update the name, slug, duration, status, scheduling type, team assignment, location, availability, buffers, limits, questions, reminders, follow-ups, paid booking, and CRM automation.

Open Scheduling > Event Types, then edit an event type.

Review Event Details

The Event details step includes name, slug, description, duration, color, active state, scheduling type, team members, assignment method, and locations.

Before activating the event type, confirm:

  • the name is clear to visitors
  • the slug is stable
  • duration matches the meeting promise
  • scheduling type matches the team workflow
  • assigned team members are correct
  • location options are accurate
  • the event type is active only when ready

For round-robin or collective scheduling, review team members after staffing changes.

Review Scheduling Rules

The Scheduling step controls timezone, start-time increment, availability, buffers, lead time, minimum booking notice, max days in advance, daily booking limit, and remaining slot display.

Use buffers to protect preparation and follow-up time. Use minimum notice and maximum days in advance to prevent last-minute or too-far-future bookings.

Always test availability after editing these rules. A small change can remove every available slot from the public booking page.

Configure Booking Questions

The Booking form step can attach a CRM form and custom questions. Use questions to collect the information needed before the meeting, such as company size, problem statement, phone number, budget, or agenda.

Keep questions short. Mark a question required only when the meeting cannot be handled without that answer.

Configure Notifications And Follow-Up

Use reminders to reduce no-shows and follow-ups to continue the workflow after a meeting. If the event type requires confirmation, bookings must be approved before they are fully confirmed.

Review reminders and follow-ups when the event type changes from internal to customer-facing or from free to paid.

Review Advanced Rules And CRM Automation

Advanced settings can disable cancellation or rescheduling, offer seats, add a redirect URL, and create CRM work such as tasks, projects, or time entries.

Use CRM automation only when the resulting records have clear owners. Otherwise, bookings can create work that nobody reviews.

Final Test

After editing an event type:

  1. Open a booking page that includes it.
  2. Confirm the event type appears.
  3. Confirm available slots are correct.
  4. Submit a test booking.
  5. Review the appointment detail page.
  6. Confirm reminders, forms, payments, and CRM automation behave as expected.
