Use the Desktop App
Understand what the Agiled desktop app currently supports.
Agiled Desktop is an Electron app that connects your Agiled account through a secure browser handoff. The desktop window lets you start sign in, create an account, refresh the local session, see the signed-in user, and sign out.
For full workspace management, use the Agiled web app.
Use the desktop app for session handoff and quick account access. Use the web app when you need to create, edit, import, approve, or report on workspace data.
What the Desktop App Shows
The desktop app includes:
- Sign in with browser when no desktop session exists.
- Create account when you need a new Agiled account.
- Refresh session to check whether a desktop session is already available.
- A signed-in state showing the connected user name or email.
- Sign out when a session is active.
How Desktop Authentication Works
Desktop authentication opens your system browser to the Agiled login or register page. After you complete authentication, the browser returns the session to the desktop app through a secure deep link.
The desktop app uses the com.agiled.desktop protocol for that handoff.
When to Use the Web Workspace
Use the web workspace for day-to-day business operations, including:
- CRM records and imports.
- Finance documents and payments.
- Projects, tasks, time entries, and scheduling.
- Files, docs, workflows, reports, commerce, and settings.
Desktop Handoff Checklist
When setting up desktop access, confirm:
- the browser signs into the intended account
- email verification or workspace invitation is complete
- the desktop app receives the handoff
- the displayed user email is correct
- sign out works on the local machine
Account And Workspace Checks
After the desktop app shows a signed-in user, open the web workspace for any business operation that changes data. Confirm the workspace, role, and module access there before editing records, importing data, or sending customer-facing items.
If the desktop app shows the right email but the web workspace is missing, the issue is usually workspace membership or invitation status, not the desktop handoff itself.
When Desktop Sign-In Looks Stuck
Return to the desktop window and select Refresh session after finishing the browser sign-in. If the signed-in user still does not appear, confirm the browser completed the login, then try signing in to the same account in the web workspace.
If web sign-in works but the desktop session does not refresh, sign out of the desktop app and repeat the browser handoff. If web sign-in also fails, resolve the account, invite, verification, or password issue in the web app first.
If the browser opens the wrong account, sign out in the browser or use a private window before repeating the desktop handoff.
Security Notes
Sign out of the desktop app on shared machines. The desktop app is tied to the local operating-system user session, so each teammate should authenticate with their own Agiled account instead of sharing one desktop login.
After changing your password or losing access to a workspace, refresh or sign out of the desktop app so its local session matches your current account state.
Do not use desktop session state as proof that workspace access is current. Confirm important access, billing, or permission changes in the web workspace.
