Conversation Details

Use the details panel to review participants, files, and linked records.

The conversation details panel gives context for the open thread. It can appear as a side panel on larger screens or as a sheet on smaller screens.

Use it before replying when the conversation includes a customer, project, task, or file. It helps confirm you are responding with the right context.

The details panel is especially important before sharing sensitive information, because it shows who is in the thread and what records are connected.

Open or Close Details

Open a conversation, then use the details control in the thread header. The panel can be toggled when you need more reading space.

Details Tab

The details tab shows the lead participant, conversation type, online state, and linked record summaries where available.

Use this tab to confirm whether the conversation is internal or client-facing.

If the conversation is client-facing, review participant names and linked records before sharing files, prices, or status updates.

If the details panel shows the wrong customer or no linked record, fix the context before sending customer-facing decisions.

If a participant looks unfamiliar, pause before sending sensitive information. Check the linked contact, account, project, or ticket to confirm why they are in the conversation.

The files and links tab lists files shared in the conversation. Use it when you need to find an attachment without scrolling through the full message history.

Before re-sharing a file, open it from the details panel and confirm it is still the current version. If the file should live with a project, document, invoice, or ticket, attach it to that record too so it is not only buried in chat.

Mentioned Records

The panel can show records mentioned in messages, such as projects, tasks, and contacts. Use those links to move from discussion to the actual work item.

If the mentioned record is stale, update the record instead of only correcting the chat thread. The details panel should help teammates reach the current source of truth.

When a decision is made in chat, update the linked record after the discussion. Future teammates should not need to read the whole thread to understand the current status.

Keep Context Clean

If a conversation references the wrong record, clarify in the thread and link the correct record before teammates continue work from the details panel.

For sensitive or client-facing threads, review participants before sending pricing, files, internal notes, or support decisions. A useful details panel is only safe when the participants and linked records are correct.

Troubleshooting

If a file or mentioned record is missing from the panel, search the conversation history and confirm it was actually sent in this thread. The details panel summarizes thread context; it is not a replacement for attaching the file or linking the record in the right place.

Before Sharing Sensitive Files

Before posting a file, price, invoice link, document, or support decision:

  1. Confirm the conversation type.
  2. Review participants.
  3. Open the linked record.
  4. Confirm the file or link is the current version.
  5. Move durable context back to the record after the chat decision.
