Edit the Dashboard Layout
Move, resize, duplicate, clean up, and save dashboard widgets.
Use layout editing to arrange the dashboard around the order in which your team reviews information.
Layout should match the review path. Put the first decision at the top, then supporting details below it.
Before changing a shared dashboard, confirm who uses it and what questions it is supposed to answer. A dashboard for daily work should prioritize different widgets than a dashboard for finance review or leadership reporting.
Enter Edit Mode
- Open Dashboard.
- Choose the dashboard you want to change.
- Select Edit Layout.
When edit mode is active, widget controls become available. You can move widgets, resize them, duplicate them, configure them, remove them, or add new widgets.
Make one or two changes at a time when editing an important dashboard. It is easier to spot which widget or resize decision made the layout harder to scan.
Move and Resize Widgets
Drag a widget to move it. Resize a widget when it needs more room for charts, lists, or table-style content.
Agiled uses a grid layout. Widgets snap to the grid so the dashboard remains aligned after you move or resize content.
Give chart widgets enough width to show labels clearly. Give list widgets enough height to show the number of rows your team reviews most often.
Duplicate a Widget
Duplicate a widget when you want the same widget type with different configuration. For example, you can duplicate a revenue chart and configure one copy for the last 30 days and another for the last 3 months.
Clean Up the Layout
Use Clean up layout when the grid has awkward gaps after moving or removing widgets. Agiled compacts the layout while preserving the widgets.
Use cleanup after removing several widgets or after resizing many widgets. Review the result before leaving edit mode because compacting can change the visual order of the dashboard.
Save Changes
Layout changes sync while you edit. Select Done when you are finished so the dashboard returns to normal viewing mode.
If you switch dashboards while editing, Agiled saves the current draft layout before opening the next dashboard.
Review the Result
After editing, scan the dashboard in normal viewing mode. Confirm the most important widget appears near the top, charts are readable, tables do not feel cramped, and no duplicate widget is showing the same data by accident.
Check Different Screen Sizes
After a major layout change, open the dashboard on a narrower browser window or tablet-sized screen if teammates review dashboards away from their desk. Widgets that look balanced on a wide monitor can become cramped when the sidebar, browser zoom, or smaller screen reduces available space.
Move operational widgets such as overdue tasks, open deals, ticket queues, or unpaid invoices above supporting charts when the dashboard is used for daily work. Leadership dashboards can prioritize trends, but team dashboards should surface the next action quickly.
Keep Empty Widgets Intentional
An empty widget can be useful during setup because it shows which data is still missing. Once the dashboard is in regular use, remove or reconfigure empty widgets unless they represent an important zero state, such as no overdue invoices or no open tickets.
Troubleshooting
If a widget looks empty after resizing, open its configuration and confirm the data source and filters still match the dashboard purpose.
If the layout feels uneven, use cleanup, then manually move the most important widgets back into the first row.
If teammates cannot see the updated dashboard, check dashboard visibility and their module permissions.
Shared Dashboard Safety
Before major layout changes, duplicate the dashboard or note the current widget order. For shared operating dashboards, make changes outside critical review times so teammates do not lose the layout they rely on mid-meeting.
